Background
I've been running since 2008 and then moved onto triathlon in 2009. I competed in some sprint triathlons to get started but I knew when I watched a clip of the Ironman triathlon on youtube that that was what I wanted to do. I have since completed 2 Ironman distance races and now I'm looking for a new challenge. I'm looking to enter a race where the challenge is so great that I wouldn't be 100% sure I could complete it and "the race " looks like that kind of race

Why I entered "The Race"
Since my last Ironman race, I've been looking for something to focus on and train towards. I wanted to do something different but I didn't want to have to travel half way around the world to do it. When I saw "The Race" on facebook I thought, that's my next challenge. Its tough enough to make me wonder if I'll see the finish line but I can't wait to try. Also the fact that its being held in Donegal was just an added bonus.

Experience
I started running by doing some of the local 5k races and moved my way up to half marathons and I did Dublin marathon in October 2008.

It was the same for the triathlons in 2009, I worked my way up from sprint to half ironman to full ironman and I did my first Ironman distance race, challenge Roth, in 2010 and finished in a time of 13.03 hrs.
My second Ironman was the Hardman which was run in Killarney, County Kerry. I finished in a time of 12.16 hrs.
