• THE RACE: 250 KILOMETERS 24 HOURS.

    The Race is a 250 km unsupported endurance event across the rugged landscape of North West Donegal. To finish competitors have to complete 15km of kayaking, 166km of cycling, 5km of mountain running and 64km of road and trail running. It is the ultimate 24 hour test of endurance. The Race takes place in Spring each year. The 2018 event took place on the weekend of 13th-15th April.

Background

James works in the Finance industry in Dublin and spends most of his time behind a desk. When has some free time he spends as much as possible of it mountain running and planning his next race.

Experience

James enjoys mountain biking and skiing but his passion is for mountain running and he can often be found up the Wicklow mountains. He's also completed a few endurance events including: Jungle Marathon, Brazil: 250km multiday ultra race through the Brazilian jungle; Racing the Planet, Namibia: 250km multiday ultra race across the Namib desert and Skeleton Coast; Racing the Planet, Atacama Crossing: 250km multiday ultra race across the Atacama desert in Chile; and other short distance adventure races, mountain races and a collection of road races across marathon and sub-marathon distances...
