Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

I am under no illusions about the challenges which lie ahead in the coming months. If come next February I have not shed blood sweat and yes tears then I will not have prepared fully for this event. My aim is simple. Finish, The longest distance I have raced is a half marathon which, when compared to my fellow 'competitors', does not even register on their radar. What I do have is a will to succeed and a burning desire to push my body both mentally and physically to places I never knew existed. I will finish this race be it on my hands and knees and behind the other 59 starters, but I will finish.

Experience

I have competed in a number of 10 Km and half marathon races including the Lidl kildare run, focus Ireland run, Westport's Sea to Summit, i swam at a national level in my teens, Ring of kerry cycle, National Boxing Championships.
