Background (Reasons for entering The Race)

I come from a cycling/motorsport backround,I have held a national team time trial title as a schoolboy rider in 1989.I moved to rallying in 1992 and have competed nationally and internationally since then. I returned to cycling in 2010 and started to compete in adventure races in 2012.My reason for entering The Race is with it being so close to home, the challenge of completing and preparing for The Race is appealing, and I feel compelled to compete to hopefully inspire and encourage my young family to always face lifes challenges with grit and courage.

Experience

I held a national cycling title in 1989 as well as a county Donegal gold in the Community Games Under 16 road race,I have been consistently placed in the top 12% of three major adventure races that I competed in in 2013.I had not competed in any physical or endurance competion since 1991.
