Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

I have always been interested in endurance events and having moved through the various distances; from half marathon, to marathon, to Olympic distance triathlons, to full marathons, to Ironman triathlons and ultra marathons, I though this would be the perfect race! I was in attendance last year as a supporter, and thought the whole idea of the race was great!
