• THE RACE: 250 KILOMETERS 24 HOURS.

    The Race is a 250 km unsupported endurance event across the rugged landscape of North West Donegal. To finish competitors have to complete 15km of kayaking, 166km of cycling, 5km of mountain running and 64km of road and trail running. It is the ultimate 24 hour test of endurance. The Race takes place in Spring each year. The 2018 event took place on the weekend of 13th-15th April.

Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

Started running in 2012, always had a good fitness level being a fitness instructor/personal trainer. Took part in the Race 2014 but bike malfunction meant I couldn't continue from 20k into the 75k cycle so I have unfinished business with the race. Even though not finishing last year I really enjoyed the experience and will be better prepared this time around!
