Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

I entered "The Race" because it seemed like a mad crazy event to part of.I have never participated in a 24 hr event before and wanted to see if body and mind were up to the challenge. Some people call it madness.

I took up running 12 years ago, I compete in all disciplines from cross country, track and road racing. Have over 150 championship medals for county, munster and national events, two British master track medals and 6 marathons under my belt, 3.16 is my pb from Dublin 2012.

I took up cycling six years ago, and after entering many local duathlon races , went on to represent Ireland in the 2010 European duathlon championships.

Have a few adventure races completed, Gael force west was one of those, where i was 6th lady home.

I now run with Waterford Athletic Club and cycle with the Biscuit Club. A super bunch of people.
