Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

I love challenging myself and trying new adventures. As I spend alot of time on Arranmore island off the coast of Donegal, the areas The Race covers are very much my training ground whenever I head across to the mainland. I was very excited when I heard about this event and wanted to enter last year but injuries hampered me and after working so hard to get back to full strength I am now looking forward to achieving my goal of competing in and finishing The Race.

Experience

Numerous marathons and ultra marathons including 7 Two Oceans (56km), 5 Commrades marathon (88km), Washie 100 miler, Marathon des Sable and a few 80km and 56km off road/mountain runs taking in Table Mountain. A number of 200, 300 and 600km rides, 1000km audax ride in the UK and Paris Breast Paris 1200km ride. Irish end to end TT record (Mizen Head to Fairhead) and a number of 12 and 24hr TT events. 10km Bray to Greystones swim and Lanzarote Ironman.
