Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

I'm a lifelong cyclist who has taken up multi-sports in the last couple of years. I've had as many birthday as Heinz has varieties so I'm in The Race for the challenge of completion and definitely won't be at the front! I enjoy an event where the aim is to finish rather than win and I enjoy the camaraderie. This season has been ruined for me because I broken my collar bone during a cycle around the coast of Ireland, they say you're not a real cyclist until you've broken a collar bone! I'm hoping The Race will be my big comeback event.

Experience

Over the years I have done numerous cycling events such as Wicklow 200, Tour of the Glens and Tour of Ireland Sportive. I have completed a few small adventure races like Gaelforce North. I have competed in a few triathlons and marathons and I became an Ironman at Ironman UK last year.
