Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

Shortly after my daughter Naomi was born I realised I was overweight and un-fit, I took a keen interest in my fitness and started running & swimming. I have since set myself new challenges and have learned to surf and kayak. In 2012 I organised the Mulroy Bay Adventure Race followed by several other sports event for charity. Unable to take part in The Race 2014 due to completing an Honours Degree, when it was announced that The Race was to run in 2015 I was keen to get an entry for it.

Experience

I have a great passion for the outdoors and spend a lot of time Kayaking, Mountain biking and Hill walking I have completed a number of 5k, 10k, Duathlon's, Kayak Races and Adventure Races but nothing as long or as tough as The Race.
