• THE RACE: 250 KILOMETERS 24 HOURS.

    The Race is a 250 km unsupported endurance event across the rugged landscape of North West Donegal. To finish competitors have to complete 15km of kayaking, 166km of cycling, 5km of mountain running and 64km of road and trail running. It is the ultimate 24 hour test of endurance. The Race takes place in Spring each year. The 2018 event took place on the weekend of 13th-15th April.

Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

Having just completed the Adventure Racing World Champs in Ecuador in November, I'm looking for a new challenge. I'm also still on a high from the World Champs, therefore vulnerable, hence signing up for The Race :)

I love the idea of The Race and think it will be an incredible event. While I haven't done much solo 24 hour racing, I'm looking forward to the journey and what will be an interesting test!


 
Experience

My background is mainly adventure racing having completed my first expedition race over 12 years ago. I have competed in over 14 expedition length races to date, multi-sport races, marathons, half marathons and a few 50k ultras. I sink when I swim, therefore triathlon has never been for me.
