Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

I am a member of the Irish Navy and based in Cork Ireland. This involves extensive physical training and seaman ship. I am a very focused and determined person with good all-round physical ability and training. I want to enter the race because I would like to put my skills and training to the ultimate test and to compete against myself and others. I have watched the race each year and I am friends with some competitors, I have been amazed at this challenge.

Experience

I have completed several half marathons and multisport events and I have competed in GAA at a good level. I was on the podium of the Irish national windsurfing slalom competitions. However, most of my relevant experience is within the Navy and the defence force training.
