Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

I'm married to the beautiful Fiona and have four brilliant children. My reasons for entering 'The Race' date back to 2007, when, at the age of 35, I finally had to accept I was never going to become a professional footballer! So hanging up my boots I swapped them for runners and inspired by my good friend Kevin Hederman, did my first marathon. I caught the bug and have notched up 7 since then.

In 2013, inspired by my other good friend, Derek O'Brien (a fellow Race competitor), I took up Triathlon. I caught that bug and completed the 140.6 Ironman UK in 2014. I'm taking it relatively easy in 2015 with a few Olympic distance triathlons and the Dublin 70.3 Ironman in August. "The Race" 2016 is the big one, a different and brilliant challenge - the very best of luck to all competing and I'll see you at the finish line on March 6th!

Experience

Dublin Marathon 2008 / 9 / 10 / 11 / 12. Paris Marathon 2013. London Marathon 2014. Ironman UK 2014 (140.6). Ironman Dublin 2015 (70.3)...
