Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

The Race has been on my bucket list for quite some time as I have heard a lot of positive things about it from past competitors. It looks like a great challenge. It is the type of race I always thought I would really train for, but as race day looms it seems I have my fair share of emergency training to do. Due to one thing and another, the serious training is yet to happen. I have no doubt I'll be struggling somewhere down the back, but sure that's where all the craic is, so as long as I am taking part I'll be happy! Here's to a great event with a great bunch of fellow lunatics for company.

Experience

I have done a number of half marathons, a couple of Ultra Marathons, and have done 24-hour, 36-hour and 50-hour and 72-hour adventure races. I also have a 250km staged running race in Iceland under my belt. I am not the best athlete in the world but I always enjoy myself.
