• THE RACE: 250 KILOMETERS 24 HOURS.

     

    The Race is a 250 km unsupported endurance event across the rugged landscape of North West Donegal. To finish competitors have to complete 15km of kayaking, 166km of cycling, 5km of mountain running and 64km of road and trail running. It is the ultimate 24 hour test of endurance. The Race takes place in Spring each year. The 2018 event took place on the weekend of 13th-15th April.

Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

Needed a fitness goal after having my first baby to motivate me to get back in shape.  Plus I get to bring my baby to Ireland to meet our extended family!

Experience

Various multi sport races (mostly off road) including the Bruce Peninsula Multisport Race, Logs Rocks and Steel, Storm the 'Scarpment and The Race. And some mountain bike races including Lost In the Rocks and Trees, Eager Beaver 100 and a few 8 hr relays.
