Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

I heard about the race the first year it ran and thought the people who did it were crazy even to attempt it.  Since then though it has been in the back of my head to try so this year I'm giving it a go.  We'll see how far I get.

Experience

In relation to running I've run a couple of half and full marathons (Cork, Dingle, Dublin, Killarney and Chicago) and have also completed the Connemara Ultra.  Cycling I really only do as a recreation type thing and so have never really completed the distance that is required for the distance in the Race - which should be interesting.
