Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

I am 43 years old and I mostly just train by myself. I am late to fitness and I really only got going the last 6 years.

The race is on my door step, the course has been set and completed by some fine athletes and I wanted to test myself against what Donegal has to offer. I know it will be a real challenge to complete but my kids like the look of the medal so I said I would give it a go.

Experience

I have only every done one marathon in 2010 and the WAAR in 2015. I like to run and the roads around Donegal are great for training. I only started cycling about 7 months ago but have been around the course on the bike a few times now so I know what to expect. I guess I am more of a runner than a cyclist. I also have a bucket load of ignorance which I am sure I will need.
