Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)

My most recent race was Challenge Roth - a fantastic experience for anyone. Prior to that was the IM Mallorca in 2014, which was my first attempt at a long distance triathlon, although I had done a few half iron distance triathlons prior to that. I took up competing in triathlons about 6 years ago - just to give them a go. I don’t have a background in swimming cycling or running but wanted a challenge - I suppose. About 12 years ago I thought I would enter a 5K - never having done anything sports related for 30 years. How hard could it be!! But from there I went on & entered other 5K & 10K events and half marathon. Bought a bike & learnt to swim. The rest ... is history.

I won’t break any records nor challenge the winners ... but it’s all about taking part, apparently!!
