My first time hearing about 'The Race' was on a UTV news report in 2015. I remember thinking at the time that those guys must have a serious 'want' in them to volunteer to do a race as crazy and as torturous as that. Little did I think that a year later in 2016 I would end up heading up to Donegal as a spectator to support my friends and colleague's from GoTri Adventure who were eager to take on the challenge.
The buzz I got from that day was like nothing else and I decided there and then that I wanted to try this epic challenge for myself. Life intervened and it's taken me until now to fulfill that promise to myself. Now in 2018 I also hope to be standing at the start line with all the other crazy guys. I know that the race will be a one off, if not the biggest challenge I have faced to date. Crazy maybe but I'm looking forward to testing my body and mind and pushing away above my comfort zone. I will be lucky in that I will have the support and advice from the guys in GoTri Adventure who have completed the Race to push me on even harder especially when the going gets tough.
