I was told about The Race by a friend, Jacqui Burke. We met last month while taking part in the Monster Triathlon, which was my first real endurance event. I spent the week surrounding by so many incredible people who had done amazing events all over the world, and who had so many inspiring stories to tell. I left feeling like I wanted to do so much more, and have been researching events ever since! When I saw The Race details and the video I felt so inspired and excited for the chance to take on such a challenge. I am not a speedy person but I love the challenge of digging my heels in and taking something on.
Experience
I did my first marathon last year - the London Marathon. Before this I had done several half marathons and tough-mudder style events. Through 2017 I did 2 marathons, the London triathlon olympic distance, the great north swim and the Ragnar Relay. 2018 has been a step up, In May I cycled to Paris, did my first half-iron distance triathlon, and then completed a 3 marathons in 3 days trail event in Devon. The Monster Triathlon followed in July, then RideLondon 100 last weekend and the London Triathlon next weekend! A couple more road marathons later in the year and I'm organising 2 teams to enter the Ragnar Relay again this year through my workplace.
