Background (Reasons for attempting The Race)
I finished playing rugby when I was 36 and spent the next few years without much motivation to train. Even reaching 17st didn't set any alarm bells off. In the spring of 2012 my Mum was diagnosed with Cancer. We like to think we are in control of things...! I decided to train for the Coastal Cancer Challenge adventure race in Dunfanaghy, County Donegal. The training was short but I really enjoyed it and putting the training together on race day really hooked me and we managed to raise money for Cancer Charities as well. My Mum passed away at the start of this year. We all really miss her. I hope to finish with a few minutes to spare.
Experience
Very little: Coastal Cancer Challenge twice and Gaelforce North this year. It'll be a long Winter!
