Background
I am 36 and work as an accountant in Dublin. In the last year I have gotten into athletics in a big way. I joined Raheny Shamrocks Athletic Club in October 2012 with a view to running a sub 3 marathon. Having achieved that goal in Rotterdam in April 2013 I am now aiming for a sub 2:45 marathon in Dublin in October.
The reason I want to do The Race is that it is the most challenging event of its type to be held in Ireland.
Experience
Three marathons to date with a P.B of 2:56 in Rotterdam in April; A number of half marathons with a PB of 1:16:36 in August 2013; Gael Force in 2011; Cycled 260km solo Dublin to Westport in a single day in 2012; Completed the Wicklow 200 and Ring of Kerry cycles.
