I played Rugby until I was 36 and then spent 8 years on the sofa. My friend was putting together the Coastal Cancer Challenge in Dunfanaghy in 2012 and he talked me into doing it. I trained for 10 weeks and when I got across the line I knew I could go faster. As it turned out I was wrong but I did find I could go longer. It was on the start line of the 2013 Gaelforce North that I first heard about a 24hour multisport race. I thought it was nuts but Gavin Harris and Gerard Callaghan convinced me I could do it. You two have a lot to answer for!
