I am an Army Reserves Infantry Officer, and have completed two tours of Afghanistan and currently work as a Company Commander with 3 Royal Anglian. My day job sees me split between Cornwall and Leicestershire, working for Samworth Brothers which owns a group of companies including the well-known brands of Soreen and Ginsters. Having met David and Maghnus while sharing a tent during the Sahara Race 2010, I thought I would help support the two of them by putting myself forward for the inaugural Race in 2014. Having never competed on a bike before this challenge proved too much and I missed the cut-off for going up Mount Muckish, leaving me with the choice, stick with only having completed half a race, or sign back up and tough it out again…I went with the latter.
